ABOUT NCA
Northumberland Care Alliance (NCA) is an employer led organisation that provides workforce development services for the social care sector across the county of Northumberland. NCA was established in 2001 in response to employer demand and is hosted by Northumberland Care Trust.
Our mission is: "To be the first choice for Social Care Workforce Development services by providing sustainable customer-led provision that is measurably excellent in all areas".
NCA's main focus is to provide easy to access, quality training opportunities which are designed to improve the skills of the workforce enabling the sector to deliver better quality care. That core activity remains at the centre of our business and provides the foundation of our offer to employers. Over the years, NCA has widened its remit to include management training and specialist workforce development programmes.
NCA also acts as a communication channel between the care sector and strategic organisations delivering the Skills Agenda which ensures the voice of the employer is represented at regional level. NCA is a member of the Sector Skills Council, Skills for Care and works in partnership with the other Alliances in the North East to share good practice.
